According to the latest data, the US services sector rose in April more than expected, basing on preliminary indices. This means services sector still shows positive signs.
Markit services PMI released on Wednesday rose by 1.5 bp to 52.8, which is a stabilisation after a minimum fixed in February. Preliminary PMI reached 52.1, while experts expected growth to 52.3.
Growth of activity was mainly due to recovery of demand. However, some part of analysts underlines uncertainty over economic outlooks and forthcoming elections in the US.
Another index that characterises services activity has grown in April. ISM non-manufacturing PMI rose in April by 1.2 bp to 55.7.
