France's consumer prices fell in September on the background of low prices in tourism due to a finish of summer vocations. This situation is depicted in the latest Insee's report.

 

France's CPI fell in September by 0.2% on a month-over-month basis, after growth by 0.3% in August. The data matched forecasts stated in September and matched experts' expectations.

 

Prices for food fell by 0.5% on a month-over-month basis. Prices for clothes and shoes rose by 7.9%. Prices for energy rose by 0.8%.

 

Inflation level has been remaining below a target 2% for a long time, despite rate cuts to record meanings. At that time, significant amounts were spent for government bonds.

 

HICP rose in September by 0.5% versus the previous year after growth by 0.4% in August.
